Reforestation cooks
Team of hotdog stuffers.
Rio Reforestation was a success.
Thanks to Laura, Alan, Windie, John, Madeleine, John Gentry and daughter, plus myself for a job well done. Thanks to TPW and FWS running the event and their help. That is the hot dogs were well done and stuffed on time. Five hundred hard working volunteers enjoyed a hot meal along with chips, and drinks.

Habitats and Endangered Species of South Texas
Presented by Marion Mason

Come find out all the real endanged species located in deep South Texas. Some have survived and are no longer on the endangered species list yet other still struggle. Birds, cats, and more will be discussed. We are fortunate to have the right combination of land, water, and climate to create this unique habitat Marion will tell us about.

Marion Mason brings us a unique look at our special habitat. This habitat allows a cross of endangered species not known in other locations. She has ten years of experience with the US Fish and Wildlife service. Her biology BS degree landed her several environmental education jobs before the Rio Grande Valley.

I have had the good fortune to see her in action. The presentation of the complete mixture of wildlife, habitate, envirement, climate and history brings a talk to life. You will experience the power of her presentation on habitat and endangered species.

In addition to many counters, I still need section leaders for nearly all the sections (Sections 5a, 5b, and the Sabal Palm section of 6 are being covered, thanks guys!). This entails leading the section, collecting the $5.00 fee from participants, and getting the list and any rare bird documentation to me by the end of the day. If you are interested, please, please, let me know! The count circle and flyer are attached.
We will still have a meet point available in the morning, and an optional count-down dinner (dutch treat) in the evening, like last year.
If you have any questions or need more information, please contact me.
