Back Yard Bird month. The Laguna Vista event had over 200 attend.
I presented " Birds of the Rio Grande Valley" and was a photo
judge for over 175 back yard bird photos. John Topp presented

Yellowthroat
Birds - Four families
of yellowthroats occur in Tamaulipas, Mexico. |
| The
Altamira Yellowthroat is found
only in Tamaulipas and must be hard to find.
No photos of the Altamira Yellowthroat are on
the world wide web until now and ours is so new
it does on come up on searches yet. The
Altamira is located along the Gulf Coast to the
Sierra Madre mountains of Mexico in the Southern
half of Tamaulipas, touches SLP, and parts of
Veracruz. The distinguishing field mark is yellow
above mask instead of white like Common Yellowthroat. |
|
|
Common
Yellowthroat is all over both
Mexico and the USA plus the Southern provinces of
Canada.
The Gray-crowned Yellowthroat is
only found in Brownsville at the Sabal Palm Sanctuary for the whole
USA. It is also found in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas and South
into Central America. It is also located along the west coast of
Mexico.
The Hooded Yellowthroat is
located along the Atlantic slope of the Sierra Madre including
a piece of Tamaulipas. |

|
| The new wider
bridge is taking shape for the North lanes. An island like has
not been disturbed, which the shore birds like. Thousands of
birds can be seen flying from their night's stay on the lake
around sunrise every morning. Some do land on the island at the
bridge.
